Not sure what's up, Doc? Then lend us a fuzzy ear or two! You've just landed in a quirky e-Card world where quality, whimsy and creativity RULE! Where everyone's rabbit ears are perky, not droopy! A place where bunnies do what bunnies do, which is why Banjo Bunny's got so many Hoppin' Good E-Cards oozing out of his ears! You probably won't find what you're expecting, and that's the way the rabbit thinks it should be. This isn't like other e-card sites because, let's be honest... there are way too many e-card sites in the world ~ and, let's be honest... most of those e-card sites don't take the time, they don't take creative risks, they're too big for their britches, and they don't fly by the seat of their pants they way a Trickster Rabbit does! Other e-card sites might be free for the takin', but they certainly don't wraps it all up in a goofy orange bow quite the way Banjo Bunny does. Why? He just doesn't know any better. No one told him it's impossible to pull a rabbit out of a hat, so he just went ahead and *ABRA KA DABRA* ... HE DID!
Banjo Bunny began as a funny little idea way way back in 1998 when Rabbit In Charge, Susan J. Preston (that's me) posted my first Interactive Flash-based Advent Calendar, which has become an annual event for 10 years and running, winning numerous Cool Site of the Day Awards. Viewers would email asking if they could send my animations to their friends. At first I thought it was an impossible task. Databases are expensive, who was I to take on such a task? But strange things happen every day in this world ~ the universe conspired, the stars aligned. I'm not entirely sure how and why, but they did.
Jumpin' Jehosephat! Where did the idea of a banjo-playin' bunny come from? He just sort of hopped into my consciousness one evening in the middle of a brainstorm. Banjos are funny and happy. Banjos don't put on airs - what you see is what you get! Pair a banjo with a bunny and you get an animated, magical trickster dude who's delightfully unpretentious. (The alliteration isn't bad either.)
Banjo Bunny launched in BETA BUNNY format December 2005 with only four e-cards, but now Susan... err.... "Banjo Bunny" has stocked the Rabbit Hutch with 160 E-Cards to choose from - a number which, like bunnies, continues to multiply. There are Valentine's e-cards, Birthday e-cards, Christmas, Halloween and Friendship e-cards. There are even naughty and nice e-cards. I have a mission statement, but like to think of it as THE BIG BUNNY IDEA: To bring good old-fashioned whimsy, creativity and happiness into the hearts of senders and recipients alike. Banjo Bunny hopes to reduce the amount of droopy-eared depression in the world ~ one goofy, elegant and whimsical e-card at a time. It's a tall order, but Somebunny's gotta do it!
So, HOP TO IT! Become a Banjo Bunny Member now, and start sending some of the most magical, inventive e-cards in the universe today!
